No camps. No fear. Just the facts – you decide.
An ideological war is raging online: some say fluoride is "toxic." Others say going without it is "irresponsible." Both sides are shouting loudly. Both are trying to sell you something.
We do things differently. Denttabs are available with fluoride (1450 ppm) and without fluoride – and we won’t try to convince you that one version is "the right one." Here is what you really need to know.
What fluoride does
Fluoride is the best-researched active ingredient for the remineralization of tooth enamel and is considered reliable protection against cavities. That is why dental associations have been recommending it for decades. Our version with 1450 ppm corresponds to the standard concentration in adult toothpaste.
Choose the fluoride version if: you want to prevent cavities, have had fillings in the past, or simply want to stick with the established standard.
Who chooses to opt out
Some people choose not to use fluoride out of personal conviction. That, too, is a legitimate decision – which is why we offer the fluoride-free version. Our only point is: we do not claim that "without" is healthier or safer. The current body of research does not support that.
The most honest sentence on this page
Which version is right for you depends on your personal risk of cavities – and one person knows that better than any internet video: your dentist. Especially with children, a quick question is worth it.
And Denttabs?
What remains the same in both versions: the cellulose polish for that smooth tooth feeling, the foam-free application, ~80% less packaging, the COSMOS seal, and development with dentists in Berlin. The fluoride question changes nothing about the rest – it is simply your choice.
In short: Fluoride = proven cavity protection. Without fluoride = a conscious personal choice. Both are available. If you are unsure: ask your dentist.
