White teeth

The toothpaste tab polishes your teeth to a high gloss. This gives them a unique shine, which you otherwise only have for a few days after a professional dental cleaning at the dentist.

Smooth teeth

Due to the cellulose in the tab, your teeth are polished ultra-smooth even up to the interdental spaces. Therefore, new particles simply roll off the tooth surface. Coatings, also known as plaque, can practically not even arise.

Healthy teeth

The waterfree toothpaste tabs provide a proven unique fluoride effect in the mouth, which protects your teeth from decay in the long term.

Application

Teeth brushing with Denttabs is a bit unusual at first, but otherwise very easy:

1. You put 1 tab in your mouth and chew it, for example on your molars, which results in a creamy texture, not a foamy one. We deliberately use only a very gentle and natural surfactant.

2. You moisten your toothbrush and brush your teeth as usual.

3. spit out, rinse your mouth with water, done! How do your teeth feel now?

We recommend 1 tab in the morning and 1 tab in the evening. To slowly approach the foam-free brushing experience, you are also welcome to take 2 tabs in the morning and 2 tabs in the evening for brushing. Should you ever feel like having a fresh breath during the day, you are also welcome to chew and rinse a tab in between.

We use these ingredients

Microfine cellulose fibers (Microcrystalline Cellulose)

The cellulose fibers in the toothpaste tablets are obtained from woody plant parts. Of course, FSC certified and grown in the EU. It is a long-chain polysaccharide that can polish your teeth ultra-smooth to the interdental spaces. That's why new particles roll off the surfaces of your teeth. Coatings, also known as plaque, can practically not form in the first place.

Citric acid

Stimulates the flow of saliva. The increased salivary flow with natural calcium and phosphate ions causes faster remineralization of the enamel and tooth.

.

Sodium hydrogen carbonate (Sodium Bicarbonate)

Also known as sodium bicarbonate, in the reaction with the citric acid adjusts the pH of the tab to a neutral value during tooth brushing.

.

Silica

Serves as gentle cleaning body.

Amisoft (Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate)

A mild and natural surfactant composed of vegetable fatty acids and the amino acid glutamic acid isolated from plant proteins. When cleaning, it helps to combine proteins, fats and carbohydrates with water to flush them out when rinsing.

.

Natural strawberry flavor

Provides together with the stevia extract for the great taste.

Xanthan Gum

A natural polysaccharide that is also used as a thickener and gelling agent. In the toothpaste tab, it provides the pleasant creaminess after chewing the tab.

Stevia (Stevioside)

Sweet tasting plant, which together with the aroma and menthol provides the good taste. Stevioside are not sugar, but proteins that have a characteristic sweet taste. Therefore, stevioside can not trigger tooth decay.

Beet Root Powder (beta vulgaris root powder)

Natural colorant from beetroot, which provides the great color when brushing teeth.

Maltodextrin

A carbohydrate mixture derived from vegetable starch, which serves as a carrier for the beet powder and ensures that the natural dye is well distributed.

Sodium fluoride (Sodium Fluoride)

Serves the remineralization of tooth enamel and can help especially with sensitive teeth, but also with incipient caries.

The fluoride content is adapted for children and is 500 ppm.

.

Magnesium Stearate

A herbal excipient necessary for tab production.

We do not use these ingredients

Natrium-Lauryl-Sulfat

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is the surfactant most commonly used in cosmetics. It has a property that is desirable in many cosmetic products: it foams. Danger: Its cleansing power is so effective that it can dry out and irritate mucous membranes and cause aphthae, among other things.

Diethanolamine (DEA)

Contributes to an even distribution during application and strengthens the foam quality. Danger: Formation of nitrosamines possible. Nitrosamines are carcinogenic, so their use is restricted in the EU.

Methylparabens

Used as a preservative because it inhibits the development of microorganisms in cosmetic products. Danger: Hormonal disorders such as changes in the sex organs in animals have been documented. Therefore, it is on the EU priority list for endocrine disruptors.

Water

Toothpaste consists of just under 50% water. Water is often used to create a pleasant consistency, as it is a very cheap resource. Disadvantage: Wasteful and heavy to transport. Both lead to a poorer ecological balance.

Nano-hydroxyapatite

Taken as an alternative to sodium fluoride. Companies promote the ingredient as "liquid" or "artificial" enamel. Dental care products are supposed to be able to repair already damaged enamel by using the nano-sized hydroxyapatite particles to repair fine cracks in the enamel. However, there is no scientific evidence for this. The effects have never been tested in meaningful studies.

Synthetic dyes

Their purpose is to spice up the toothpaste aesthetically. However, they have no cosmetic value. Danger: Azo dyes can trigger pseudoallergies and are also suspected of being carcinogenic if they are broken down again in the body into carcinogenic starting compounds (including aniline).

Propylene glycol

Humectant in toothpaste. Danger: Is derived from petroleum and can cause allergic reactions. Does not apply to Denttabs, as the tab is a dry product.

Preservatives such as potassium benzoate

Inhibits the development of microorganisms in cosmetic products primarily. Danger: Can cause allergies and pseudoallergies. Needed if you have an aqueous system as in toothpaste.

Microplastics

Microplastic is used to get a nice consistency in toothpaste. Furthermore, it is popular to achieve a better cleaning with abrasive and scouring particles. Danger: Microplastics are extracted from petroleum and enter the sewage system directly from cosmetics. The problem is that sewage treatment plants cannot completely retain the microparticles due to their small size. Some of it, therefore, leaks into natural waters. Sewage sludge used for fertilizing fields also contains microplastics. Meanwhile, some data relate directly to humans. Plastic particles (up to four μm in diameter) are absorbed by the epithelial cells of the human intestine.

PEG-26

Consistency giver used to form a good consistency. Toothpaste thus remains shapely and aesthetic; the paste can be nicely distributed in the mouth and form a homogeneous mass with saliva. Cons: Is obtained from petroleum.

Nanoparticles such as titanium dioxide

Nanoparticles are used in toothpaste to mask any color and make the toothpaste white. Titanium dioxide is a common agent used to bleach and lighten confectionery or sauces. Danger: In January 2017, a new study was published that confirms: Titanium dioxide appears to lodge in the body, weaken the immune system, and can cause cancer - even in just the small dose you take every day via toothpaste, blood pressure pills, magnesium tablets, or chewing gum. In France, the ingredient is banned.

Limonene

Limonene is a perfume substance derived from plants. Danger: A certain amount can cause contact allergies. The allergy risk is such great limonene that the substance must be declared on all products within the EU since 2005.

Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA)

Well used in cosmetics because it has an antioxidant property and increases product stability. Danger: In high concentrations leads to drowsiness. In animal studies, tumors were found in the forestomach of rats. There is a risk of accumulation in the body when high concentrations are ingested. BHA is also suspected of causing allergies.

Use in the morning and evening

How to brush with the toothpaste tab

1. Chew tab on the molars.

2. Wet toothbrush.

3. Brush teeth as usual.

Frequently asked questions

Are the toothpaste tabs suitable for children?

We offer our toothpaste tabs in Mint and Strawberry flavors. Mint is especially suitable for adults, as they are a little sharper in taste. Strawberries are specifically designed for children but are also very popular with adults. Try your way through and find your favorite Denttabs flavor. Our Strawberry toothpaste tabs, of course, have a fluoride content of 500 ppm adapted for children.

Can toothpaste tabs replace toothpaste?

Yes! Denttabs toothpaste tabs clean your teeth at least as effectively and reliably protect against tooth decay as conventional toothpaste. And that with natural and sustainable ingredients.

You still have doubts? We've collected all relevant studies and test results for you in the Dental Health section.

Why do the toothpaste tabs not foam?

The question that first arises for us: Does our dental care need to foam? We are convinced that foam belongs on beer or in the bathtub but not in the mouth.

We made a very conscious decision to use a gentle surfactant: Amisoft (Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate). This is a natural surfactant consisting of vegetable fatty acids and the amino acid glutamic acid isolated from plant proteins. When brushing, it helps proteins, fats and carbohydrates combine with water to flush them out when rinsed.

In conventional toothpaste, aggressive surfactants are often used to provide high cleaning power during brushing. Denttabs has the same cleaning power as conventional toothpaste, according to studies - and with natural and less abrasive ingredients. Aggressive surfactants have the disadvantage that they can irritate mucous membranes and reduce the fluoride remineralization effect.

Often it is the habit that a toothpaste now foams. Don't worry: as quickly as it has become a habit to have a foaming mouth, it will become a habit to use a tablet without much foam. Just give it a try, you won't regret it!

When do I use fluoride, and when do I not?

Generally, we recommend fluoride for all people who want to protect their teeth from caries. Especially users with pain-sensitive teeth have told us about positive experiences with our fluoride toothpaste tabs.

Is Denttabs also suitable for pain-sensitive teeth?

Denttabs toothpaste tabs with fluoride are ideal for pain-sensitive teeth for the following reasons:

1. Our toothpaste tab consists of about 70% cellulose. And it is very gentle to your teeth and enamel.

2. our toothpaste tab contains fluoride. Fluoride forms a kind of protective film around your teeth and provides proven rapid remineralization of tooth enamel in the tab. Denttabs users report that exposed tooth necks lose their sensitivity after 14-21 days at the latest. So: Just try it out and share your experiences with us.

Do the toothpaste tabs harm my tooth enamel?

Due to the low abrasion value of Denttabs toothpaste tabs (RDA value of 21), there is no need to worry. Denttabs is very gentle on your teeth and enamel. This has been confirmed in numerous test results from consumer organizations.

.

What toothbrush do I use best?

We recommend you use the Denttabs toothpaste tabs with an ultra-soft toothbrush, e.g. with our Denttabs Bamboo Toothbrush. Basically, the softer the toothbrush, the better for the polishing effect of the toothpaste tabs.

Vegan

All our products are 100% vegan.

Natural cosmetics certified

The toothpaste tabs and the packaging carry the recognized COSMOS Natural standard for certified natural cosmetics.

Industrial compostable packaging

We use industrially compostable packaging based on PLA, a corn-based plastic that is bio-based and biodegradable.

Axel's dental care tip

To ensure that children do not swallow the toothpaste tabs, we recommend that you place the tablet on the wet toothbrush before brushing and let it soak for about 30 seconds. Once the tablet has dissolved, the teeth can be brushed.
