Who is actually behind the toothpaste tab?
Founder and CEO of Denttabs.
Axel Kaiser
is not a trained dentist, as one might assume. After graduating from high school, he initially trained as a car mechanic to give his hobby at the time a more professional foundation. In the course of his alternative service, he taught himself programming in the early 1980s and worked in the field as a technician and lecturer until 1992. As a photographer, he also photographed stars such as Michael Jackson and the Rolling Stones at concerts in Berlin.
Besides Denttabs, Axel is on fire for sustainable business. He is involved as a board member (since 2007) for the German Sustainable Business Association (BNW)is a founding member of the Citizen Energy Berlin (BEB) and co-founder of the Circular Packaging Initiative (2020). Since 2023 he sits on the DIN committee for "oral care products". and can be heard on various panels Talkenden and in podcasts (see press). In his spare time, he is an avid sailor and spreads his favorite hashtag "#WennRichtigSchonImmerFalschWar" wherever he can. 😉
Founder Story
Foundation of dental laboratory
In 1992, Axel Kaiser and his two brothers founded the dental laboratory proDentum in Berlin, which was intended as a sales organization for the parent laboratory in Singapore initiated by brother Christoph and which provided patients with high-quality dental prostheses that were significantly less expensive.
First idea in doctoral thesis
Axel assisted one of the dental customers with the practical part of his doctoral thesis at the end of the 1990s. Topic: Development of a water-free toothpaste with the background that many ingredients that are unnecessary for dental care but potentially critical for the body could be avoided.
Innovation: The toothpaste tablet
After some experiments and a lot of research, first a granulate was developed. More out of curiosity, this developed into a tablet, which was sold for the first time in the fall of 2003.
Foundation of Denttabs
On January 1, 2009, Denttabs innovative Zahnpflegegesellschaft mbH was officially founded, having previously run as a project of proDentum.
The faces behind Denttabs
We are located in the middle of Berlin's Wedding district in a manufacturing area with a good 15 people of different ages and backgrounds.
Berlin is our home for research and development, where we test new formulas and concepts for customers.
Our constantly growing team is characterized by flat hierarchies and ensures in constant exchange with each other that the dental care revolution works.
